Overview
American made, family-owned Dacor has been designing and manufacturing luxury kitchen appliances for three generations. Dacor provides a full line of innovative products designed to appeal to a broad segment of the luxury kitchen appliance market. With products available through a network of over 1,500 retail locations, Dacor is bringing luxurious appliances to customers throughout North America, and into select countries worldwide. Industry Firsts Dacor introduced many product firsts that revolutionized the kitchen appliance industry forever. One of their most significant products was the 30" PureConvection™, Self-Cleaning Built-in Wall Oven, released in 1987. The innovative oven transformed Dacor's business and has since become the industry standard. Other industry firsts included the first cooktop with continuous grates and the first professional range with sealed burners. Today, Dacor continues to lead with advanced product engineering, setting product design and performance benchmarks. Hallmarks As a design-focused company, the form and appearance of Dacor appliances have set them apart in the industry, however, the original foundation of Dacor appliances - style, innovation, performance, craftsmanship, and service - continue to be the hallmarks of Dacor appliances to this day. Dacor is a frequent recipient of industry awards including a 2011 GOOD DESIGN® Award for the 36" Distinctive™ Gas Cooktop, platinum ADEX honors for multiple products, a 2011 Best of KBIS Award for the Distinctive 30" Dual-Fuel Range, and 2011 gold ADEX honors for the Renaissance® 24" Dishwasher. Along with meeting these high design standards, Dacor's foremost goal is to provide unsurpassed service to each and every Dacor customer and industry partner. Joseph Family In 1971, after graduating from Stanford University and after serving with the marines in the Vietnam War, brothers Mike and Tony Joseph joined their parents, Stan and Florence Joseph to help run Dacor. Eventually, Michael served as CEO and Anthony as President. Under their leadership, Dacor's business grew at a rapid rate. Product development was a primary focus and Dacor continued to introduce innovation after innovation. For the noteworthy impact Mike and Tony had on the industry, they were both inducted into the National Kitchen & Bath Association Hall of Fame in 2004. With the promotion of Mike's son, Stephen, to the position of President/COO, the third generation of the Joseph Family is in position and planning for significant growth in the years ahead. Our Founder In 1933, Stan Joseph opened a small appliance store in Northern California. Supported by his devoted wife Florence, his innovative thinking led to the invention of the first kitchen ventilation system and the first indoor electric barbecue. In 1989, Stan was one of the first to be inducted to the NKBA Hall of Fame for his contributions to the appliance industry. While sons Michael and Anthony grew Dacor into the industry leader it is today, Stan can be credited with setting the appliance standard for unparalleled quality, design, and service. Dacor survived three recessions; the company accepted change and demonstrated the flexibility to adapt to its current market. Perhaps Stan understood it best, when he said that the Dacor story would be a continuing one. And continue, it will. The company will carry on the Dacor legacy and founding principles as it evolves and continues on as a leader in the appliance industry. Values Dacor is proud of their products and innovations, but places the most emphasis on their company value, which is the foundation of Mike Joseph's leadership - To honor God in all that we do by respecting others, by doing good work, by helping others, by forgiving others, by giving thanks, by celebrating our lives. This statement not only acknowledges and honors God's presence in the workplace, but also holds Dacor to a high standard of behavior. |
